I've never reviewed a product on my blog before but I thought I would start doing it more, as I'm trying out new things all the time and thought it would be nice to spread the word on items I love. 

In December, I went to Lincoln to meet my partner’s family and when I was down there I popped into Lush, the customer service in Lush is always on point; their staff are friendly and know their stuff which is what you need when you’re looking for something but you’re not sure what you’re looking for. I said I was looking for something that wasn't breakable as it had to go in a suitcase all the way back to Newcastle and had to be something to go in the bath. The lady in Lush recommended I try one of their bath oils. I didn't even know bath oils were such  a thing in Lush but she mentioned that they hadn't been out that long. Out of the ones that she showed me was ‘You’ve been Mangoed.'

This is what Lush say on their website about ‘You’ve been mangoed’:

Good dull day all. Amongst your inventory I'm led to believe is a zesty specimen I'm keen to acquire, with the butter of mango and avocado. Release an outlaw of tropical proportions when you free lemon, lemongrass and lime oils in your bath. Yet to be mangoed? It's time to liberate your senses and try this bright orange and green bath oil.

You’ve been Mangoed is full of lots of lovely natural products which are great for your skin. Some of the ingredients are Mango butter (Skin-Softening), organic shea butter (Moisturising), avocado butter (nourishing and hydrating) and Lemongrass oil (uplifting and antiseptic).

I think I've been turned to the bath oil side rather than bath bombs. The reason I think I've changed to the oil side is because I could feel it working into my skin when I got in the bath, plus it didn't change my bath in to a bright colour which is good as I'm not a fan of my bath being different colours. Recently, I hurt my back and have been taking baths more and I feel like the lemongrass oil is definitely uplifting. I get out of the bath and my skin feels so soft and smells great. You can smell the strong scent on your skin, which I think doesn't happen when you get bath bombs.

I would recommend the You’ve been Mangoed if you fancy trying out bath oils also at £2.00 you can not go wrong. If you want something that really nourishes your skin and leave you feel uplifted than this bath oil is for you

Lifestyle: Quick and Simple Stir Fry






I thought I would do a quick recipe post as I haven’t done one in a while. This is a quick throw together kind of recipes. It’s the week before pay day and these were things that were left either in my kitchen cupboard or freezer. It’s a simple recipe and all you need is 

Half an onion
Peppers
Chicken breasts (I used frozen)
Peas and sweetcorn (I used tinned)
Ginger
Soy Sauce
Bag of noodles


First cook the chicken till fully cooked, then add in onions, peppers, peas and sweetcorn. Once that is all cooked add in your noodles and soy sauce. I let them cook all together while stirring it all together. Then it's time to plate up and eat. The meal is around 350 calories so it good if your looking for something that is low in calories this meal is good for you.

 Like I said this is a simple recipe you can add stuff in or take things out it’s up to you stir fries are simple meals to adapt to your taste.

Lifestyle: Love Yourself, It's Important

Everyone has those days, where they feel rubbish about themselves and the way they look. That feeling always happens to me in January.  January has always been a hard month for me, I think it’s because it’s the month that I’m out and about, helping other people reach their goals and not focusing much on myself and my goals. I generally work late nights meaning I don’t see much sunlight, as I’ll be in the office for the full day. Don’t get me wrong, I love helping people reach their goals as I get this sense of achievement and proudness when someone I work with reaches their goal. After January, I always start to focus more on myself and start to look at what I can change in my life, to help me fall in love with myself and my life again.

I thought I would list a few things that I changed towards the end of January or will be changing in February to help motivate myself.

 Join a gym and have a program.
If you read my January favourites – you will know that I joined Pure Gym in Newcastle. At first, I found it hard to fit in the sessions but now I have set times, I go and I plan my classes and what I’m going to on a Monday morning ready for the week ahead. The gym is my ‘me time’ it makes me feel better about myself. I’ve always been one of those people that when I’m exercising I feel more motivated about what is happening around me, I find the gym relaxes me and makes me focus on me – not the things I have no control over.

Focus on my skin
I have always been lucky that my skin has never been really bad but I recently decided that I need to make more of an effort with my skin. My sister got me a lot of Estee Lauder skin care for Christmas which meant that I didn’t have to go out and buy a full range. I started using the range, but I didn’t pay massive attention but now I’m really focusing on looking after my skin. I’m still not great at taking my make up off but I’m working on that.

Look into what I’m eating
I will say that I don’t eat terribly as my mam makes a lot of my meals and I would say 80% of them meals are healthy. I started at the end of January taking a lot of meals to work so I’m not snacking as much but I still do snack but it’s mainly on breakfast cereal bars which aren’t too bad. I bought Lean in 15 by Joe Wicks, at the end of January to try out some new recipes. I’ve always been bad with breakfast but because of an app I downloaded called Fabulous which is about making small changes to your day and making them become new habits. This has helped me drink slightly more water – as I’m terrible at doing this and I’ve started eating breakfast more often.

 Try and spend more time with family, friends and boyfriend.
I recently was given more hours at my job meaning I’m working around 35 hours a week at my coaching job and then I have my part-time retail job at Fenwick Department store. As you can guess, I only get 1 day off which at the minute I spend with my boyfriend as I hardly spend any time with him so  the little time I do have I want to spend with him. I hardly get to see my friends or family and definitely don’t have any me time. After a few weeks of thinking I think I’ve decided to leave my retail job it’s not  100% yet but I think I will be leaving at the end of February as it’s not making me happy about my life and I feel like I’m missing out on so much that is happening because I work too much. I’m hoping having a full weekend off that I will get to see my friends, do day trips out and about and just enjoy my life a bit more with the people I love.

Start having me time.
This is something I started doing with small steps, I started with leaving my phone on my bed side table at 10pm I would love to do this earlier but I’m a bit of a social media lover and find put my phone down really hard. My main me time is while at the gym but I want to start doing it more at home. I’m starting to read more and turning my TV off at 10pm. It could earlier now that Celebrity Big Brother has finished (don’t hate my rubbish TV choice). I’ve learnt over the last few months that having some time by yourself is important, even if that just 30 minutes walking the dog.

Lifestyle: January Favourites

Hey Guys,

I’ve never posted a favourites post on my blog before so I thought I'd give it a try and tell you about my favourite fitness things in the month of January. These things are a random mix of favourite workouts, music and food.

1: Pure Gym – I joined a new gym in January after the prices rocketed at my local gym. My sister had been talking about going to a new gym in the centre of Newcastle, which is a more convenient location for work etc. There were two we considered joining, the first of which was Pure Gym and the second The Gym. While both were the same price, we had heard more about Pure Gym (there are three in the city!) and decided to give that one a go. We filled our memberships in online and they came to £25.99 including a £15 joining fee. It's normally only £10.99 a month, including all the classes - you can’t go wrong with that. The gym has three floors filled with everything all sorts of equipment. I’m going to be doing a full blog post on it in early February, in case you’re interested in finding out more.

2: HIIT Workouts – If you don’t know what HIIT workouts are, the name stands for High-Intensity Interval Training and it's a type of workout that has become very popular recently. The workout is based on alternating between high anaerobic activities and slow recovery. My favourites can all been found on Pinterest; however, I recently found a couple I like from the Lean in 15 recipe and exercise book I recently bought. I will be reviewing it in full once I’ve had a go at a few of recipes.

3: Breakfast cereal bars – I’ve never been a morning person and definitely not a breakfast person. This year I wanted to change that since I’m doing a lot more hours at my coaching job and I don’t want to be rushing around on an empty stomach. Let’s just say becoming a morning person is a lot harder than it looks! I have been trying to have breakfast but time has not been a good friend; however, I have found that having breakfast on the go is something I like and can do. That is where cereal bars have come in handy - I’ve even put a box of them on my desk as a snack through the day instead of reaching for chocolate.


4: French braids – I had a lot of time on my hands over Christmas as I wasn't working very much as a coach. I have always been able to do French braids in other people’s hair but thought they were too hard to do on my own. That is no longer the case, as I can now do either one in my hair or two smaller ones. My hair is loving not being heated everyday! The only issue I have is that my ends always look a little bit too dry so if you have anything that you know works for dry hair please leave it in the comments!
